Man stabbed to death in Little Garth, Pitsea

Police were called to Little Garth, off Pitsea Road, after reports of an injured man. Police attended shortly before 8.45pm on Saturday July 7th.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics the 21 year-old man passed away at Basildon Hospital a short while later.

Licensing officers have drafted a new Sex Entertainment Venue policy and are now asking residents and businesses to take part in an online questionnaire.

Man arrested and charged for rape on Temple Farm Industrial Estate, Southend

Jaroslaw Halibozek, 28, from Leigh, appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 20th after being charged with rape. Halibozek was remanded in custody and will appear at Basildon Crown Court on Wednesday, July 18th 2018.

"Coaches Welcome" in Southend

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has launched a new “Coaches Welcome” scheme to provide free parking and a welcome reception for coaches bringing visitors to the town.

With immediate effect, coaches can now access free parking at the seafront “Gasworks Car Park” if they book in advance by calling the Visitor Information Centre on 01702 215620 open 8am - 5pm daily. Visitors will receive a welcome from the Visitor Information team upon arrival to advise them of local events and activities and help them make the most of their visit. The “Gasworks Car Park” is open 8am – 8.30pm daily.

The shop front of Best-One store and off licence has been completely wrecked in a car crash.

Pedestrians and drivers have been asked to avoid Southchurch Road, near to Hamstel Road. PC Marek Jaworksi of Southend's Community Policing Team suggested that drivers could use Woodgrange Drive or Eastern Avenue instead.
